Louie - Louie is a quite a dog - he calls for momma. He is sweet natured with all of the volunteers. He can climb a chain link fence. Louie is in progress.

Mike responding to a whistle - always at the front -  racing to get to you first - ready to please. The photographer sat down to get pics of the other pups and Mike immediately climbed into his lap - every time. Mike barely makes it into the medium category based on weight but he packs a lot of energy into a little body. He plays with the other fosters no stop wearing them all out. In the evening he eats then he curls up with his best friend Ringo and he is out for the night. Dawn breaks and Mike is ready for another day of fun and adventure

This poor guy is typical of the Am Staffs (pit bulls) that come into the pound. They could not be further from the terrors you hear about on the nightly news. These dogs are the ones that have been used as bait dogs to train the fighting pits. The come in so frightened that they can not even look at you and sit trembling while you pet them. It normally takes a couple of times and then they realize you are something new - someone that does not cause them pain. They warm up quickly and soon join the excited clamor made by the rest of the pound dogs when a volunteer arrives for adoption day or just a little play time.
